The Sewers of Orsholon City

Underneath Orsholon City is reported to be a vast network of tunnels and passages, believed to be the remains of a sewer system from before The Cataclysm. As far as they have been explored, they extend far beyond the city walls, although many of the passages have collapsed and been closed off.

[img:1277330|right]It is belileved that before The Cataclysm, these tunnels were part of a vast sewer network for a city that stood in the location where Orsholon City now stands. The tunnels all have a slope toward the south, in the direction of the Riqaba River. They branch out from a large main tunnel, and after the Cataclysm, many sought shelter in the tunnels. Since the building of Orsholon City, however, the majority of the entrances to the tunnels have been sealed off, and it is believed that armorys and vaults are now in the tunnels, protected by the Royal Guard Of Orsholon.

Although not confirmed, the tunnels purportedly have been altered to house multiple chambers that are used as vaults for the kingdom's treasury. These vaults were built after the construction of the city walls, and very few were allowed into the tunnels to minimize spilling their secrets. No known blueprints exist, as they were ordered destroyed after each alteration was completed. It is bellieved, however, that at least three tunnel entrances can be found outside the walls. These are hidden and are only to be used should the Royal Family find themselves in danger. Should that be the case, the Royal Guard would escort them through the maze of tunnels to escape.

The tunnels appear to be lined in some kind of stone, but do not appear to have been carved. They are like flattened tubes, approximately 60-100 ft. in width and 20-30 ft. tall. They have elevated platforms along each side of the passage, with a channel in the center that is approximately 3 ft. in depth. There are round housings along the ceiling that may have been some type of light source, but they have no magic attached to them and no way to bring in sunlight. For now, they are a curiosity. For light, oil lamps on posts have been installed along the walkways.
